The Faithful Reason Project
The Faithful Reason Project is an effort by seminary philosophy faculty to make a quantum leap in the effectiveness of philosophy programs.
The project, hosted by the Athenaeum of Ohio, evolved from discussions in recent years at both the NCEA and American Catholic Philosophical Association (ACPA) meetings. The project reflects the conviction of the relevant committees that, with a broadly organized and sustained effort, philosophy courses can be made much more effective in preparing students for theological studies.
In response to the current Program for Priestly Studies guidelines, the project will prepare for each topic specified: a model syllabus, including an annotated outline, an articulation of the fundamental distinctions, suggested readings, bibliography, and suggestions for making the material lively and relevant to seminarians. The information will be made available on the web and via the Seminary Journal for ready access and easy revision.
